2005 Ranking Survey Results

Results of the 2005 ELN Ranking Survey: proposed activities for 2006/2007

The 2005 Ranking Survey results are now available. As in previous years, the Ranking Survey asked a delegate from each ELN partner library to identify up to three titles, in ranked preference, considered to be suitable candidates for an ELN consortium license.

The highest priority titles, as identified by the survey results, are:
  1. Auto Repair Reference Center and Hospitality and Tourism Index with Full text (tied for first in aggregated votes);
  2. Lexis Nexis Academic.

ELN will obtain additional information and where applicable, coordinate trials for the above titles.

Also to be considered (schedule and staff resources permitting) is the fourth ranked Gale Virtual Reference Library.

25 libraries participated in this year's survey (see Appendix B, below). A total of 5 declined participation, the most cited reason being a projected lack of sufficient funds that could be put toward licensed products in the forthcoming year.

Discussion and next steps

ELN's proposed actions with respect to the four highest-priority titles are described in the table below.

Title comments, proposed activities and dates
