Draft Terms of Reference reviewed and accepted. Don Taylor explained how CUFTS uploading works and Christine Manzer explained the finer points of Cufts title sheets.
Discussed how to add LCSH and Call numbers. Decided to add extra columns to right of spread sheet to accomodate this and to then have this data uploaded into the MARC records in the Journal Authority table in CUFTS.
Was agreed that SFU/BC ELN would send out draft procedures on how to maintain CUFTS title lists.
Was agreed that more descriptive headings were needed for the spreadhseets beyond the standard CUFTS headings.
An environmental scan of Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) was led by Heather Morrison (BC ELN) and an environmental scan of the Electronic Journals List was led by John Dobson (UW). The question of whether or not to add DOAJ's deleted journals to the CUFTS OA journals list was discussed. John stated that the EJL is growing quickly, is 5X larger than DOAJ, and most of the literature concerning EJL is in German. Ella-Fay Zalezsak (Vancouver Community College) volunteered to contact EJL about getting their metadata for CUFTS.
Gilbert Bede (Okanagan College) volunteered to investigate meeting technology software.
