Consumer Health Complete and Health Science Databases

Consumer Health Complete is not a replacement for the Health Science Databases which a number of partner libraries currently license through BC ELN. The products have considerable overlap, but each has unique content.

Each product is made up of three basic databases: Alt Healthwatch, Health Source Consumer Edition, and Health Source Nursing/Academic Edition. However, the new Consumer Health Complete (CHC) package also includes a number of e-books, pamphlets, and reports not in the Health Sciences Databases. Meanwhile the Health Science Databases includes a larger range of journals plus deep journal backfiles not available in CHC.

For libraries which previously subscribed to the Health Science Databases, you can use the following URL to connect to Ebsco and search all the products together:

For libraries which did not previously subscribe to the Health Science Databases, you can use the following URL to search the new CHC product via the standard Ebsco search interface:
