Steering Committee Governance Categories
The BC ELN governance model is designed for equitable representation by all BC ELN partner libraries and effective communication with all key stakeholders. Members of the BC ELN Steering Committee include:
- 4 Partner Library Director representatives (elected by the Directors of each library group), representing:
- Urban Colleges (Camosun College, Douglas College, Justice Institute of BC,
Langara College, Okanagan College, Vancouver Community College)
- Rural Colleges (College of New Caledonia, College of the Rockies,
Nicola Valley Institute of Technology, North Island College,
Northern Lights College, Northwest Community College, Selkirk College,
Yukon College)
- Regional Universities and Institutes with 4 Year Programs
(British Columbia Institute of Technology, Capilano University,
Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Vancouver Island University, University of the Fraser Valley)
- Small Universities (Emily Carr University of Art and Design,
Royal Roads University,
Thompson Rivers University,
Trinity Western University,
University of Northern BC)
- 3 University Librarians
- President, Council of Post-Secondary Library Directors (CPSLD)
- 1 representative from SFU as the host institution
Non-voting members include
- 1 representative from the Public Library Services Branch, Ministry of Education
- 1 representative from the British Columbia Library Association
- 1 representative of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development
- BC ELN Executive Director
In-person meetings are held twice a year, supplemented by e-mail discussion and voting.
