Re: BC ELN ICIS update June 2012
Once you have your BCeID, the next step is to have your account set up for access to the data covered under the BC ELN / ICIS agreement. Although there are two portals for accessing data, there is just one contact for profile set-up: Michelle Mitchell at ICIS, mmitchell@icisociety.ca
Faculty accounts
The person responsible for your institution's BCeID can set up sub-accounts for faculty members. These accounts can be used by faculty members to download data for students' use (e.g. download for class use and store on a local secure server). For account profile set-up, send the faculty member's BCeID to Michelle Mitchell.
Training deferred to fall
Due to low staffing levels and a need to further develop procedures before a Q & A session, training will be deferred till fall. Suggestions, questions, comments for training are most welcome.
Website update
The BC ELN ICIS webpage has been updated to reflect the contact information for account profile set-up noted above. AVED staff will be updating their webpage later this summer.
ICIS spring newsletter
ICIS recently released their spring newsletter, at: http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs018/1101561281243/archive/1110019087502.html
